Volcanic lava is a rock originating from the erosion of volcanoes. It is very light in terms of density and very porous, acting like a filter. Volcanic lava helps conserve water and capture nutrients in the transplant pot, releasing them whenever the plant needs them. Moreover, it reduces the tendency of moisture to evaporate from the dish, drying is done gradually.

It does not decompose and does not disintegrate over time. The color of the material is given by the amount of minerals in the rock fractions and the speed with which they oxidize. How is volcanic lava used? 1. In the case of indoor or outdoor plants in pots or planters: the volcanic lava is incorporated into the soil in the pot, so that the mixture becomes an aerated matter, in which the roots of the plant can breathe. Water as needed. 2. In the case of cacti and aromatic plants in general: the volcanic lava can be incorporated with the soil in the pots in a ratio of 1:1 or it can be used as such, without other elements, depending on the plant’s needs. 3. In the case of decorative plants, indoor or outdoor: spread a layer of 1-2 cm on the surface of the pot. It can also be used for bonsai or arrangements with aerial plants.
